Comics Final Order Cutoff – 11th November 2023

This week’s FOC includes new mind-bending science-fiction; a star-turn from Cruella De Vil; DC turns the clock back to the death of Jason Todd to show us the road-not-taken; a gruesome comedy-horror for fans of Slither, Cullen Bunn’s new surgical horror series; new horizons for Star Wars comics in 2024; a new-adventure for the original X-Men; and Jee-Hyung Lee’s first creator-owned title featuring his beautiful art on interior artwork as well as covers!

UNNATURAL ORDER #2 – In case you missed it (with thanks to Vault Comics!) Unnatural Order #1 is a full-length $4.99 comic that’s available in store for only 50p! Soon after, June begins to experience strange visual phenomena and discovers that we are all actually living in a vast computer simulation. Now she must set out on a journey of possibility and peril to reach this simulated world’s creator and save her true love from death.

DISNEY VILLAINS CRUELLA DE VIL #1 – She has always vehemently refuted all of the scurrilous claims in the tabloids that she was ever involved in the theft of any Dalmatian puppies! There’s no hard evidence whatsoever, but Cruella De Vil’s reputation in the fashion world was destroyed regardless. Which is why she’s willing to do anything – ANYTHING! – to restore her good name – even stealing the royal family’s priceless jewels! How will that restore her reputation, you ask? You’ll just have to pick up this brand new entry in Dynamite’s Disney Villains adventures to find out!

BATMAN #428 ROBIN LIVES (ONE-SHOT) – In 1998, during the infamous Death in the Family storyline, DC Comics ran a phone-in advertisement at the end of issue #427, the second part of the storyline. This asked Batman readers to call in to one of two telephone numbers and vote on whether or not they thought Jason Todd should survive or not. The first number was labeled The Joker fails and Robin lives, the other The Joker succeeds and Robin will not survive. DC Comics always claimed that they had two versions of Batman #428 prepared, awaiting the verdict. Fans were skeptical, but Robin did ultimately die at The Joker’s hands. Now the DC Vault opens to reveal the unpublished alternate ending! What if instead of Jason’s death and eventual return many years later as the gun-toting vigilante Red Hood, he had survived his brutal encounter with The Joker?
