Comics Final Order Cutoff – 7th January 2023

This is your weekly reminder that Final Order Cutoff (FOC) orders are due by 10am on Saturday! Send an email over to shop@proudlion.co.uk to add any of these titles to your orders or pull list. This week’s FOC includes a range of exciting genre mash-ups, a smorgasbord of serial-killer hunters, several other spooky tales, the return to the worlds of both Nottingham and Critical Role, plus the new comic conceived by Wesley Snipes!

Some publishers are no longer offering later printings, and some titles sell out on release. Orders placed after FOC rely on extra stock being available, so get your order in today so you don’t miss out!

ALMIGHTY #1 (OF 5) – Max Max: Fury Road meets the mutated horror of Annihilation in this action-packed sci-fi/fantasy epic for mature readers. It’s 2098, and America has been ravaged by economic collapse and a mysterious environmental disaster that has led to anarchy on the streets – all contained behind a massive wall. Now a young womanhas been abducted, and a deadly road-warrior has been hired to bring her home.

BLOOD TREE #1 – Two NYPD detectives are obsessed with hunting a vicious butcher called the Angel Killer, who targets the innocent family members of known murderers in order to “purify” the rest of society. A story that considers how present and future generations are tainted by past generations, and asks the eternal question: Who must pay for the sins of the parents?

WHERE MONSTERS LIE #1 (OF 4) – There is a place where slasher killers go between murder sprees. A gated community that serves as their safe haven until the bloodlust calls once more. GARGOYLES #1 FACSIMILE EDITION – Reprinting the original Gargoyles comic spin-off, originally published in 1995, featuring early work by comics superstar Amanda Conner! This special facsimile edition also will include a sneak peek at Dynamite’s new Gargoyles and Darkwing Duck comic books!

CRITICAL ROLE MIGHTY NEIN ORIGINS HC MOLLYMAUK TEALEAF – From Critical Role: Vox Machina Origins writer Jody Houser, Critical Role‘s Matthew Mercer and Taliesin Jaffe, with art from artist Hunter Bonyun – what strange events created Mollymauk Tealeaf? He has a knack for hiding his true self behind the shifting colour and shape of a personality he seems to wear like his singular coat. He’s an entertainer, fighter, and performer. But as with every member of the Mighty Nein, his strange past will eventually catch up with him…

SKULL CAT VOL 01 SKULL CAT & THE CURIOUS CASTLE TP – Junior school readers who love fantasy and spooky adventure will treasure Norman Shurtliff’s debut graphic novel – meet Scully the Cat! He’s excited to start his new job at the castle and prove himself to be a great gardener. Sure it’s an creepy place, but what’s happened to all of his co-workers? Eaten by vampires? Scared off by a love-struck ghost? Bewitched by a sleepy sorcerer? Punked by a comic-reading goblin? Scully never signed up for all of this!
